I completed an artist residency in Japan this year (2014). From June till July I worked in a studio in Itoshima, Fukuoaka, Japan. The residency was supported by Studio Kura. During my stay at Studio Kura I painted 3 large scale murals for an exhibition. These works were based on people I met while staying in Itoshima. The characters were based on a mochi chef, a flower growing gardener, and a bonsai gardener. During my stay in Itoshima I wrote a travel article for Fukuoka Now Magazine. Read about my travels within Japan here.
