I like pushing a style to its most simple form. Sometimes the result is more graphic, sometimes it’s more recognisable, and some are just plain silly.

This is what fairies would look like if I had my way. I played around with the idea of creating cool looking fairies that weren’t pink and glitter based. I like to experiment with stylisation to see if I can find something that kids, teenagers, young adults and proper adults would like.
How do I draw people? I’m always mixing this up. I like the more graphic and simple ways to stylise a person. But sometimes adding a bit of humor and personality can be fun too.
What can I say….I like maps. I like drawing maps. These were for some art prints for kids.

This is a spray can painting of fruit. The stencils are made up of things I found around the house. A train track, a sink plug, kitchen utensils, a doily – they all become ways to add texture.
I spent 5 weeks in Japan. I mainly stayed on the island of Kyushu in a place called Itoshima. Itoshima is a farming community that uses traditional techiques to grow rice, vegetables and an assortment of grains. Here are some of the toys I have made for kids. I have made hundreds of toys. These are a few that I have photographed. I started my career as a toy maker and one day I will make them again. But for now, enjoy these three lovely ladies.
